Making little actions to take care of the environment makes you an ecosophist, and is very simple! Our aim is to create awareness about sustainability and how small changes like choosing plastic-free skincare and eco beauty tools, like reusable makeup remover pads can make a huge difference.
SUSTAINABLE BEAUTY IMPACT
On average, a person will use approximately 2 to 4 disposable pads per day to clean their face meaning each year, they send 1,440 pads to landfill. These disposable pads then take another 5 years to decompose (assuming the conditions are right for decomposition) and in the meantime more and more are being contributed each day.
This is why the ecosophist team have created a more sustainable yet cloud-like ecopad that can be used 200-250 times! In fact, using one ecopad 200 times will save the planet 7,000L of water. Bamboo, hemp and organic cotton are not only incredibly sustainable but as organic fibres, are compostable at the end of its useful life.
Ecosophist was born from the need to introduce more sustainable products in the beauty industry. Since I was a teenager, I have always loved skincare and make-up routines. However, every time I went into make-up stores, I was always concerned that very little time and effort had been invested by the industry to introduce materials that were biodegradable and/or compostable. I was also shocked to discover that as far as packaging was concerned, sustainability was a low priority for most brands.
It was from my own personal experience that I knew something had to be done. This is why I created ecosophist! And I have made it my mission to produce high-quality plastic-free skincare and eco-friendly beauty tools.
